In 2013, Associazione Irene took part in the European project, "Remade and Relive -- Participative training of domestic violence victimes in textile rewarding recyclying and reusing" as part of the Grundtvig Learning Partnership Program. As a result, the first sustainabe tailoring course was organized in Milan in collaboration with AFOL Moda.

The Spazio 3R project officially launched. With the support of Fondazione Caripli and in collaboration with CIF Metropolitano di Milano, the first tailoring workshop was set up in the Porta Romana area of Milan, and the first training course began.
Spazio 3R was formally established as an Association. Two of the first course participants were hired part time, while training opportunities and third party production work expanded.
Spazio 3R opened its first temporary shop in Milan, on Via Bezzecca (Cinque Giornate area), in collaboration with Cen dell'Amicizia ODV.
A new tailoring workshop opened, followed by a new partnership with the Istituto Comprensivo Tommaso, offering courses for both women and young students.
Spazio 3R officially became a social enterprise. The board of directors expanded to include new professionals, and the first paid courses open to everyone were launched.
A new workshop opened along the Naviglio Pavese in Milan in collaboration with Associazione Donna & Madre. A full-time tailor and a part time administrative coordinator joined the team, and professional training programs were further strengthened.

A new workshop was inaugurated in Macherio (Monza Brianza) in collaboration with La Grande Casa SCS, made possible through the Bando Emblematici Provinciali, supported by Fondazione di Comunità Monza and Brianza and Fondazione Cariplo.

From Project to Social Enterprise
Spazio 3R began as a product of Associazione Irene, bringing to Milan the experienced gained through European projects aimed at informal learning in the field of sustainable artisan tailoring. This initiative supports women in vulnerable situations, through the recyclying and reusal of textile materials.
