A couple of months ago, Alessia, a 22-year-old who had just completed her studies in Fashion Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), contacted us. She was looking for a place where she could put her studies into practice. That is how she found Spazio 3R, and her energy has contributed to the positive atmosphere of our workshop.

Staying Active and Making an Impact

“I started looking for a job, something to do during this in-between period from my bachelor’s degree to the master’s program I’ll begin in Paris,” Alessia explains. “I wanted to combine hands-on work with sewing machines and doing something socially meaningful.” Her passion for fashion began years ago. She describes herself as having always been creative, expressing herself through drawing and singing. During high school, she began sewing, discovering a craft that would later shape her academic and professional path.

From Training Support to Digital Embroidery

In her first month, Alessia supported Maria Luisa and Cora in training courses for women in vulnerable situations. “I really enjoyed it. You meet people of different ages and backgrounds,” she says. “I felt I was offering concrete help to people who, for various reasons, are going through a period of instability.”

Now Alessia is assisting with production, particularly exploring how the digital embroidery machine works. “This machine opens up a world of possibilities. It’s an interesting resource from a design perspective as well.”

Teamwork as a Value for the Future

“There’s a wonderful atmosphere here at Spazio 3R,” Alessia shares. “They are very welcoming, and the environment is warm. We work well together, and there are also moments of conviviality and sharing.”

In the coming years, she hopes to gain experience in Paris. Looking ahead, she says, “I hope to carry with me this positive work environment: the welcoming and friendly attitude in working together, and the ability to build strong teamwork.” For Alessia, this experience has been not only professional but also human: a space where creativity, social impact, and collaboration come together.
