There are people who come into contact with Spazio 3R by chance, and quickly become eager to get involved and become part of our community. This is the case for Alessia, a 25-year-old from Brazil.

The Thread That Leads to Us

Alessia first discovered Spazio 3R one July morning during a tailoring workshop with the Bocconi Summer School in Fashion Management, Sustainability, and Digitalization. “I had a lot of fun during the experience, and it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with Spazio 3R and the people who work there,” she says. Next September she will start her master’s degree in Sustainable Management, but for now she’s in Milan “to study, get to know the city, and see what life is like here.” Her hobbies include sports, watercolor painting, and reading, and she doesn’t shy away from embroidery or crochet workshops.

The Desire to Learn and Try New Things

“I wanted to do something that combined fashion and sustainability, on track with my master’s degree,” Alessia describes, “so I contacted Spazio 3R. I wanted to be useful. I’m currently helping with logistics and day-to-day tasks, whatever they need. I’m very versatile!” And that versatility is evident in her work. One of Alessia’s strongest qualities is her eagerness to learn and put herself out there, without the fear of making mistakes.

Sustainability and Future Projects

“I enjoy collaborating with Spazio 3R employees because I am meeting new people and practicing my Italian.” In addition to logistical work, Alessia is participating in community Saturdays at the Temporary Shop, where she works on tailoring techniques like embroidery or crochet. “I’m learning about tailoring and a more artisanal approach to fashion,” she explains.

She also shared her personal experience. “I think Spazio 3R is a good example of ethical and sustainable fashion, as it’s truly attentive to the inclusion of people in vulnerable situations.” She adds, “There’s a real desire to create something beautiful, not just something tied to recycled materials. They care about people.”

Alessia is currently working hard for her future, and has become increasingly interested in working in sustainable and ethical fashion, particularly in administration. “Spazio 3R is a great place for me to learn,” she concludes with a smile.
