On Saturday, May 9, our workshop moved to a special location: the Bosch Rexroth headquarters in Cernusco sul Naviglio for an afternoon dedicated to creativity, sustainability, and community…

Opening the company doors to families…
As part of Bosch Rexroth's Family Day, employees and their families were invited to spend an afternoon together filled with activities, music, games, and entertainment. To make the event even more memorable, there were plenty of opportunities for everyone to have fun, including face painting, foosball, volleyball, and other sports activities.
Spazio 3R was proud to be part of the celebration by offering a variety of sewing and upcycling workshops for both children and adults. Our activities included a creative workshop for children, an upcycling project, and a bandana embroidery and personalization station.
Sewing as creativity in many forms...
"Spazio 3R is a local organization with a strong social impact and values that closely align with those of our company," said Claudia Romani, Internal Communication at Bosch Rexroth Italia. "These shared values made it an easy decision to collaborate on an event for our employees and their families."

As we have done on other occasions, our sewing workshop reached beyond the walls of our studio and connected directly with the community. Spazio 3R tailors Surma and Halima, together with the teacher Tecla and our interns, guided participants through several hands-on activities, all centered around discovering the joy of creativity through sewing.
"We organized different activities, and they were all enjoyable," said Halima, a seamstress at Spazio 3R.
Children created colorful keychains using leftover fabric scraps, while adults took part in embroidery and bandana personalization workshops as well as an upcycling activity.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the upcycling workshop. Participants transformed unused Bosch Rexroth T-shirts and polo shirts into reusable tote bags, embracing the principles of recycling and the circular economy. After sewing the bags, participants personalized them to make each one unique.
"Recycling and reusing materials are very important to us," Claudia added. "Giving new life to unused company shirts was both fun and incredibly rewarding."
Sewing that brings people together…

"I really enjoyed taking part in this initiative because seeing the children's excitement as they created their own keychains brought me joy as well," said Tecla, instructor and member of Spazio 3R.
Throughout the afternoon, participants had the opportunity to experience sewing firsthand. They not only created handmade products but also discovered the value of patience and collaboration waiting for a pair of scissors while someone else was using them, sharing materials, and working together.
They learned that beautiful things can come from leftover fabrics and that, instead of throwing materials away, they can often be transformed into something completely new. Most importantly, they experienced how creativity and craftsmanship can bring people together, regardless of age, gender, or background.
"We had fun, challenged ourselves, and worked together," Claudia concluded. "I believe those three elements were what made this workshop such a success. The feedback from our colleagues was incredibly positive. Many of the children even used the workshop to create Mother's Day gifts for their moms the following week. It was truly a wonderful experience."

A special thank you to Bosch Rexroth, the communications team, and everyone who welcomed us into their company and invited us to be part of this meaningful day of creativity and community. We look forward to seeing where this wonderful collaboration will lead next.
