An afternoon to rediscover the city in a new and more conscious way, starting from the neighborhoods and the local realities that bring them to life every day. This was the idea behind FUORI ROTTA – The Green Side of the City, organized by ORMA Guides in collaboration with Yellowsquare. We were proud to be one of the featured stops along the tour route through Milan’s Municipio 4 district during Milano Green Week 2025.

A Journey to Rediscover the City
On Saturday, September 20, we took part in a special neighborhood initiative promoted by ORMA Guides and Yellowsquare: a walking tour exploring the vibrant realities of the Porta Romana area, including historic workshops, local shops, and artisans. It was an urban experience that encouraged participants to slow down, observe, and rediscover the city through a more mindful lens.
The tour also connected Milan with Rome and Florence. After all, how can we talk about sustainability without building networks? The initiative was rooted in the idea of travel as an opportunity to rediscover the locals, and to cultivate a sense of presence in cities that often feel rushed or impersonal. The purpose of the afternoon was simple yet powerful: to walk through familiar streets and become aware of the beauty that exists just steps away from us.
Among the Workshops at Spazio 3R
In all three cities, guides accompanied participants throughout the tour. In Milan, the final stop was Spazio 3R, after visiting Panificio Davide Longoni and Bivio Milano.
Together with creator Mattia Iannantuoni, we began at our historic laboratory on Viale Lazio, where everything started in 2016. Chiara, President of Spazio 3R, welcomed the group and shared the story of our organization: how, within this small space, many women have discovered sustainable tailoring as an opportunity for renewal and empowerment. Participants were particularly moved by the large geographic map displayed in the workshop, marked with the names of the women who have passed through our training programs over the years, a powerful visual testimony of journeys, cultures, and new beginnings.
Just a ten-minute walk away, the group continued to Via Bezzecca, where they had an exclusive preview of our Temporary Shop, reopening in October. The space was already set up with autumn colors and products crafted by our seamstresses using high-quality surplus fabrics.
Proximity as a Way to Find Value
The young participants explored the Temporary Shop and experienced what we call the “green side” of the city through proximity, an invitation to rediscover Milan through the stories, relationships, and everyday realities that shape a neighborhood. It was a pleasure to be a part of this initiative. Since its founding, Spazio 3R has responded to grassroots needs: the needs of women who walk these streets every day. The strength of sustainability lies precisely here; in order to create opportunities for renewal, we must first give value to the places we inhabit.
Grazie a Yellowsquare e Orma Guides!
