Over the past few months, we made trousers for the female members of the historic Musical Corps “La Cittadina” San Pietro Martire of Seveso, a town in the province of Monza and Brianza. It was an example of how two arts, tailoring and music, can intertwine during a sporting event such as the Milan-Cortina Games.…

The Connection Between the Need for Renewal and Craftsmanship...
«During the renewal of the uniforms for the Musical Corps La Cittadina San Pietro Martire of Seveso, the need emerged for a tailoring workshop capable of creating trousers for the female members of the band», says Michela Allievi, President of the band and member of Spazio 3R. Michela had no doubts: collaborating with and relying on the craftsmanship of our tailors was the right thing to do, and the band's Board of Directors immediately embraced this proposal, which was founded on mutual respect. «If we place La Cittadina’s sheet music next to Spazio 3R’s sewing machines, we discover that they play and sew on exactly the same frequency».
Custom Design of the Trousers...

The trousers, black in color, were created following a study carried out together with Roberta, our pattern-making tailor, to determine the most suitable design for different body types. The fabric selected was soft yet warm at the same time, suitable for outdoor musical performances during the winter months. The garments were then produced by the tailors of Spazio 3R with careful attention to detail and precision. «Knowing that the trousers for the female members were made by hands with stories of redemption behind them gave all of us a profound sense of pride. It was perceived as a concrete way of taking music out of the rehearsal rooms and bringing it into the world of social values, making our uniform a symbol of ethical beauty and closeness to the most virtuous organizations in the area», comments Michela.
Shared Values and a Debut at an Event Celebrating Diversity…

The Musical Corps is an institution with more than 140 years of history. «Just as Spazio 3R transforms an old fabric scrap into a new product», Michela explains, «La Cittadina takes band tradition and constantly renews it, giving ‘new life’ to classical scores and welcoming new students who bring fresh energy». In both organizations, the focus is on valuing people. Spazio 3R is a place where inclusion is achieved through tailoring education, while in the band, integration comes through learning an instrument and working together.
This long history of the band has continued to the present day with an event dedicated to the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, organized by the Rotary Club SE.DE.CA in Desio (MB), to support a project promoting inclusive sport and culture. «Wearing the garments created by Spazio 3R for the first time on that occasion created an extraordinary convergence of values», comments Michela. «While people were talking about inclusion through sport, we were demonstrating it through social craftsmanship. The trousers are not simply part of a renewed uniform; they are a visible sign of a collaboration that places human dignity and social redemption at its center».
This collaboration demonstrates how music and tailoring can harmoniously intertwine through two organizations with different histories, yet united by care, attention to social values, and community involvement.
