A regular fixture at Spazio 3R before Christmas break was the Temporary Shop at Via Bezzecca 4. This year, we’re back with the project “Neighborhood Red Thread: Between New and Old Generations,” supported by Municipio 4.

Via Bezzecca as a Multifunctional Space

Spazio 3R’s exhibition space, created in collaboration with Cena dell'Amicizia ODV, isn't just a place where our seamstresses create and sell artisanal products. This year, the space is transforming into a small workshop and a meeting point for the local community. In the mornings, you might find one of our professionals, Rania, working at the sewing machine and creating locally made products. In addition to the home collection, including tablecloths, runners, and placemats, there are also clothing items designed to maintain style even in the dead of winter. Because everything is made using reclaimed materials, each piece is even more unique and original.

A New Edition of "Neighborhood Red Thread"

The new developments do not stop there. Last year, we participated in the project, “Neighborhood Red Thread: From the Women of Spazio 3R, a Message to All Women.” Everyone who purchased a product received a message of closeness and solidarity written by the women of Spazio 3R. This year, again with the support of Municipio 4, we decided to relaunch a similar initiative aimed at spreading positive messages through special bracelets: “Neighborhood Red Thread: Between New and Old Generations.” “Live,” “With Heart,” and “Shine” are just some of the words hand-embroidered by our tailors on fabric remnants and transformed into bracelets for those who shop at the Temporary Shop. These are messages of closeness, comfort, and hope, designed to bring a smile and a sense of encouragement to whoever receives them.

Saturday Community Workshops

Another goal of the project is to make this space a meeting point for the community, bringing together both younger and older generations. On Saturday afternoons, we have organized creative workshops to rediscover the joy of handmade crafts while sharing a cup of tea together. Over the past weeks, many participants have experimented with embroidery, crochet, and knitting. These have been opportunities to meet new people, and for some, even discover a new passion.
